Martial arts training for teens and adults who want to develop practical self-defense skills, awareness, physical capability, confidence, and discipline.
Ages 12+ · 2 classes per week · Beginners welcome
Whatever brought you to martial arts, the right training should help you become better because you did it.
Fujikan gives teens and adults a place to train, learn, develop, and build real capability over time.
Train for the person you want to become.
Martial arts should give you more than techniques that look good in a demonstration.
Training should help you understand movement, timing, awareness, positioning, and practical application.
Fujikan combines martial arts training with practical self-defense application so you can develop skills beyond simply memorizing forms or techniques.
Knowing a technique isn’t the same as knowing how to use it.
Fujikan is structured around two classes per week.
Each class gives you another opportunity to train, develop your technique, receive instruction, correct mistakes, and improve.
Over time, consistent training builds skill, confidence, physical capability, and discipline.
Start where you belong.
Every new student is evaluated honestly and placed appropriately for their training.
Put in the work.
Train consistently. Develop your skills. Build your capability. Work toward the next level.
Show what you’ve learned.
Demonstrate your development through testing and practical application.
You don’t advance because the calendar says you should. You advance because you’ve developed.
Competition can be an important part of the martial arts experience for students who want to test themselves that way.
But you don’t have to compete to benefit from Fujikan.
The core of the training remains practical capability, self-defense, physical development, confidence, and discipline.
Competition is optional. Capability isn’t.

A martial arts school should give you more than a place to spend two evenings a week.
At Ultimate Martial Arts, the standard is simple:
Train.Develop.Test.Prove.
Dr. Jimmy Steger, Soke has spent decades training, competing, teaching, and developing his own martial arts systems.
His own journey was built through years of work, competition, setbacks, learning, and continued development. That experience shapes the way he teaches today.
The goal isn’t simply to show students techniques. It’s to help them understand the work required to develop real ability.
